Waste Me – Speciale editie live performance bij TENT

We nodigen je van harte uit om samen met ons de hoofdexpositie van Wasteland 2025, Out of Place bij TENT, nieuw leven in te blazen. De middag biedt om 17:00 een speciale live-editie van Waste Me door Cecilia Moisio Company en Maas theater en dans, daarnaast zijn er nieuwe werken te ontdekken én kun je genieten van afvalvrije drankjes en snacks.

Waste Me – Live Performance

Uit het afval kruipen ze tevoorschijn. Zij zijn het afval, en het afval is hen. In deze speciale editie van Waste Me zingen en dansen performers Lester David & Kamil Pilarski, en verschijnen ze in een utopisch universum geboren uit vuilnis. Speels, wild en een beetje gek nemen ze je mee in de vreemde schoonheid van wat we weggooien.

Waste Me is een performance van choreograaf en theatermaker Cecilia Moisio, gemaakt in 2025 als coproductie tussen Cecilia Moisio Company en Maas theater en dans. Het is een krachtige commentaar op onze doorgeslagen consumptiemaatschappij, waarin via intense fysieke expressie en indringende beelden wordt onderzocht hoe overconsumptie niet alleen onze relatie met materiële goederen vormgeeft, maar ook hoe we met elkaar omgaan. We verzamelen, gooien weg en vervangen – objecten, gewoontes, mensen.

Cecilia’s visie kreeg vorm in een bijzondere scenografie van gebruikte meubels en weggegooide materialen, verzameld in en rond Rotterdam, ontworpen door Marlies Schot. De kostuums van Daphne Karstens zijn eveneens gemaakt van tweedehands textiel en gevonden objecten, wat een tastbare laag toevoegt aan het werk.

De performance nodigt kijkers uit om stil te staan bij cycli van afval en vernieuwing, en opnieuw te overwegen wat we bewaren, loslaten of heruitvinden.

Het evenement is gratis toegankelijk, er zijn geen tickets nodig. De performance begint om 17:00.

The afternoon will feature a special edition live performance of Waste Me by Cecilia Moisio Company and Maas theater en dans at 17:00, as well as new artworks to explore, and waste-free drinks and snacks to enjoy.

Waste Me – Live Performance

Out of the trash, they crawl. They are the waste, and the waste is them. In this special edition of Waste Me, performers Lester David & Kamil Pilarski will sing, dance, and emerge into a utopian, trash-born universe. Playful, wild, and a little crazy, they’ll take you on a trip through the strange beauty of what we throw away.

Waste Me is a performance by choreographer and theatre maker Cecilia Moisio, created in 2025 as a co-production between Cecilia Moisio Company and Maas theater en dans. It is a powerful commentary on our out-of-control consumer society, exploring through intense physicality and haunting imagery how overconsumption not only shapes our relationship with material goods but also impacts how we treat one another. We hoard, discard, and replace – objects, habits, people.

Cecilia’s vision was brought to life by a unique scenography of used furniture and discarded materials sourced from in and around Rotterdam, designed by Marlies Schot. Costumes by Daphne Karstens were also constructed from secondhand textiles and found objects, adding a tactile layer to the work.

It invites viewers to reflect on cycles of waste and renewal, and to reconsider what we choose to keep, let go of, or reimagine.

The event is free and no tickets are required. The performance starts at 17:00.
